Met Éireann have issued a national yellow status snow and ice weather warning.

The forecast is for a cold night with some icy patches.

Sleet and snow showers are expected especially on high ground.

There is a risk however I'll between 1 & 3 cm of snow locally.

The areas most at risk are Ulster and Leinster.

Be particularly careful driving around Virginia and elsewhere tonight.
