Anti-Litter Initiative 2016—Round 2 Results
Following our second round of judging, we are delighted to see the huge effort that has been put in by our Community and Voluntary groups over the past 2 months. There is no doubt that as one drives through our villages and towns, that there is a general appearance of tidiness.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our towns and villages is at the expense of the on-going indiscriminate dumping along our public roads and especially in less densely populated rural areas. This is a challenge for our Communities going forward and we cannot tolerate this behaviour as a society. The cost in economic terms is unsustainable but the hidden and immeasurable cost to our environment and health is of equal concern.
All .5 marks have been rounded upwards.
Groups should note that average scores over the 2 Judging rounds of 91-95 marks will receive a grant of €150.00 and average marks between 96-100 will receive €200.00.
