Gardaí in Sligo are investigating a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred in Enniscrone early this morning.

The collision occurred at approximately 1.45am on Pier Road, Enniscrone, this morning the 19th March, when the van collided with a wall. A 17 year male passenger was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene, his body has been removed to the mortuary in Sligo. The dirver, male 18 years of age, was uninjured in the collision.

The scene of the collision is currently closed to traffic to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.
