Newcastle West sympathises with the French as reports come in of a new attach during Bastille Day celebrations in Nice.
Reports are hitting the headlines of a truck being driven deliberately into a crowd in Nice killing dozens.
Early reports suggest gunfire between the security forces and the drivers of the truck. French security forces confirm the driver has been neutralised.
On a day that Francois Hollande announced that his country's state of emergency would end on the 26th July graphic images are being shared across social media directly from Nice showing the carnage from another unconfirmed terrorist attack.
President of the Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region Christian Estrosi said on Twitter that "dozens" of people were been killed in the incident.
Local media claims the situation as an act of terror, reporting at least 50 fatalities. No official confirmation, however has been released so far.
