New speed limits and signage for New Ross roads and housing estates are to be introduced in August.

On New Ross's rural roads some 80km/h signs will be replaced with new ones indicating drivers must drive at appropriate speeds.

In New Ross housing estates and other built up areas around New Ross provision is being made for slow zones. Currently the legal speed limit in New Ross housing estates is 50kmh.

New signs will indicate to drivers that the limit is 30km/h and will warn of vulnerable people in the area like children at play.
