Gardaí are seeking witnesses to an incident in which three men were allegedly beaten and robbed at the Newhall motorway junction outside Naas last Wednesday.

The incident took place close to junction 10, Newhall on the M7 motorway just south of Naas town at 12.10pm on Wednesday, April 20.

Three men, in their twenties, in a 09 D registered blue Volkswagen Golf were stopped on the hard shoulder of the motorway when they were approached by four men in a 151 D registered white Golf.

The four men, in the White Golf,allegedly assaulted the group and stole a small quantity of cigarettes.

The white Golf was parked on the hard shoulder in front of the alleged victims car while the incident took place.

The motorway was busy at the time and Gardai are seeking witnesses or anyone who was passing at the time to contact them.

Gardaí have established that the white Golf travelled from Tallaght before the incident and then onto Tullow, Co Carlow, where it was stopped by Gardaí and three men (all in their 20s) and a juvenile were arrested.

Three of the men were charged in relation to the incident and appeared in Naas District Court on the 21st April. The have been remanded on bail and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the juvenile.
