Temporary Closing of Roads Notice of Intention Roads Act, 1993

Kildare County Council gives notice that, in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, it intends to close:

The R403 from Firmount Crossroads (2 Km west of Clane),to the traffic lights at the crossroads at the Church of Our Lady and St Joseph, Prosperous.

From Monday 08 August to Friday 12 August 2016

For one full working day from 08:00 to 18:00hrs during this period. The closure is required to facilitate a category of road resurfacing works which are very weather dependent.

The exact date of the closure will be determined by weather forecasts closer to the date, and this date will be publicised by VMS (Variable Message Signs) 24 - 48 hours in advance of the closure.

Alternative Route:

Westbound traffic will be diverted at Clane Main Street and directed to Prosperous via the Kilcock Road (R407) to Borehole Cross and onto Prosperous via the R408.

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the council and An Garda Síochána. Local and emergency access will be maintained. Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Roads Transport & Public Safety, Level 4, at the address below, or by email to roads@kildarecoco.ie,on or before 4.00p.m. on Monday 18 July 2016.
