PLANNING NOTICE – PART 8

NOTICE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

In accordance with Part XI of the (Planning and Development) Act, 2000 – 2015 and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations, 2001 – 2015, Notice is hereby given that Meath County Council proposes to carry out the following development at Mariavilla (Co. Kildare) and Moygaddy (Co. Meath):

The Development is called the Maynooth Outer Orbital Route Mariavilla to the R157 Moygaddy Junction and comprises a single carriageway road which forms part of the Maynooth Outer Orbital Route and extends from the eastern end of the northern access road in the Moyglare Estate, Mariavilla in County Kildare to the Moygaddy Junction on the R157 in County Meath – an overall distance of approximately 1.7km. The development ties into the proposed roundabout at the Moygaddy Junction on the R157 which forms part of the previously permitted R157 Realignment and Moygaddy Junction Improvement Scheme (Reference Number P8/10011).

As the Development lies within the administrative areas of both Meath County Council and Kildare County Council, it was agreed by both Councils in 2010 under Section 85 of the Local Government Act, 2001 that Meath County Council would exercise and perform all of the necessary statutory functions of both Councils in relation to the design and general planning of that section of the development within the administrative area of County Kildare.

The development includes two bridge structures; over the Rye Water and over the Blackhall Little stream. The development also incorporates a roundabout at its junction with the Kilcloon Road (L2214) and the development bisects the Poundhill Road (L6219) with which it forms two T junctions. The development also incorporates three T junctions to facilitate future access to lands.

The Development also comprises ancillary works including footpaths, cycle tracks, surface water drainage, water supply, road marking and signage, public lighting and associated landscape works.

The development has been the subject of an Appropriate Assessment screening in accordance with Article 6(3) of the Habitats Directive (Council Directive 92/43/EEC) and the Planning and Development Act, 2000 – 2015.

The plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection and purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during office hours at the offices of Meath County Council and Kildare County Council from 9th May, 2016 to 20th June, 2016 (excluding weekends and bank holidays) at the following locations:
