Celbridge Abbey Playground is now open on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm approx. and new equipment will be installed in the playground by the end of March. Seating benches and litter bins will also be installed. This is all very positive and good news for the people of Celbridge and the surrounding area. I was delighted to have been instrumental in having this playground re-opened to the public in May ’15. Many Celbridge Residents made this request to me and I was please to deliver for them with the full assistance and cooperation of St. Raphael’s and Kildare County Council.

The response from the public was so positive, they requested if the opening times could be extended and this is now in place. I also had a number of requests from Children between the ages of 7 and 12 to have equipment installed for them. I organised a survey in all primary schools in conjunction with K.C.C to get the input from the age profile that were making the requests to me. It is very important that Children are engaged, listened too and are part of the process. Based on the results of this survey the most popular piece of equipment will be now installed by the end of March. I want to thank the Schools for taking part in this important and worth while survey.

I want to thank you all for your engagement and thanks to St. Raphael’s and K.C.C for their assistance in making this project become a reality. I will continue to work on your behalf.
