1. As a young woman who was born and raised in Lucan I've had the pleasure of growing up in this town. I grew up in a good time when lucan was fairly quiet and not alot really happened. As I hit my teen years we had grown massively it felt in population with more crime, anti social behaviour and drugs. Now in my late twenties I live in the quiet area of lucan amongst the locals who will live out their days in this lovely town. Ive noticed a few strange things occuring in the village. From pick pocketers targeting the elderly (my nan was unfortunately a target) to homeless, to folk acting suspiciously in areas near children, to break ins in estates to vulnerable residents and charity shops to name a few. I for one think that perhaps more cctv should be fitted near the schools, shops and parks. I know some people arent keen on being watched by big brother but I feel as though there would be less crime and it would make it easier to find people who have commited a crime or put someone in danger. I know for a fact that there is a big area here not covered by cameras that should be. Who do i turn to to request this? What do the people of lucan think about this topic ? Finally should we have more patrols in our area?
