Two men aged in their late twenties appeared before a sitting of Carlow District Court at 4pm yesterday afternoon (2/5/2016) charged in connection with a robbery at Post Office in Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow on Saturday 30th April 2016.

On Saturday 30th April at approximately 9.45am a lone male armed with a hammer entered a Post Office at Leighlinbridge. He threatened staff before leaving the scene with an amount of cash and a computer hard drive. The staff member was not physically injured during the raid.

During follow up searches Gardaí from Carlow arrested two males at a wooded area near Leighlinbridge a number of hours later. They were both detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Carlow Garda Station as part of the investigation.
