Preparation of the Draft Kildare county Development Plan 2017 - 2023

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to Section 12 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended), that Kildare County Council, being the Planning Authority for the County has prepared a Draft County Development Plan for the County of Kildare for the period 2017 to 2023. The Draft Plan incorporates the areas of the former Naas and Athy Town Councils. The Draft Plan incorporates plans (including objectives for the zoning of land) for the following areas:

SMALL TOWN and ENVIRONS PLANS

Athgarvan, Castledermot, Derrinturn, Kill, Prosperous, Rathangan, Blessington environs, Kilcock environs and Ladytown environs.

VILLAGE PLANS

Allenwood, Ballitore, Ballymore Eustace, Caragh, Coill Dubh/Cooleragh, Crookstown, Johnstown, Johnstownbridge, Kildangan, Kilmeague, Moone, Straffan, Suncroft, Timolin and Robertstown.

RURAL SETTLEMENT PLANS

Allen, Ardclough, Brannockstown, Broadford, Brownstown, Calverstown, Cutbush, Kilberry, Kilmead, Kilteel, Maddenstown, Maganey/Levitstown, Miltown, Narraghmore, Nurney, Rathcoffey, Staplestown and Twomilehouse.

The Draft Plan is accompanied by an Environment Report, prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 and a Natura Impact Report (Appropriate Assessment), pursuant to Article 6 of the Habitats Directive 92/42/EEC.

The Draft Kildare County Development Plan 2017-2023 (inc. the SEA Environmental Report and Natura Impact Report) will be available to view or download from the councils website www.kildare.ie/countycouncil/planning/developmentplans/CountyDevelopmentPlan2017-2023/ and may be inspected at the following locations from 4, May 2016 to 13, July 2016 (excluding public holidays).

  • All branches of Kildare Public Libraries (please check locally for opening times).
  • The Draft Kildare County Development Plan 2017-2023 and all associated documents may be purchased from the Planning Department Public Counter, Kildare County Council Offices,Áras Cill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare.

Observations / Submissions

Submissions / observations may be made in respect of the Draft Kildare County Development Plan 2017-2023 and associated Environmental Reports on or before 5.00 p.m. on 13 July 2016. All submissions and observations received before the deadline will be taken into consideration before the making of the Kildare County Development Plan 2017-2023. Submissions / observations may be made:

  • In writing to Kildare County Development Plan 2017-2023, c/o Senior Executive Officer, Planning Department, Kildare County Council, Áras Cill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare.

Please make your submission by one medium only i.e. online or hard copy. Any submission or observation should state your name address and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. As an online facility has been provided for your convenience, e-mail and faxed submissions will not be accepted.

All submissions or observations with respect to the Draft Development Plan 2017-2023 will form part of the statutory Chief Executives report to be presented to the County Council. Please be aware that this report shall include the names of those making the submissions or observations. Accordingly, the report and its content will be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently published on our website.
