While visiting her parents who were residing in Leixlip's Rye River Nursing Home, Caroline English from Malahide came up with this great idea.

Adopt A Granny

The idea came about as Caroline had been visiting her parents over the last seven years. She noticed how the residents at the home enjoyed interacting with her young son. Sadly many of the residents had no one to visit them so she came up with the idea that parents with young babies would call into homes and elderly neighbours with their young children to keep them company.

Caroline is also encouraging schools to participate and arrange visits to local nursing homes around Castledermot to give companionship and friendship to residents with no families of their own.

This is a great idea for Castledermot. It is a fitting tribute to Caroline's parents who have sadly now passed away. If you agree please click the share button below to get it off the ground here.
