Recent social media posts have claimed that new speed cameras have been introduced to Dublin Port Tunnel.

These claims are false but that doesn't mean you can relax.

A spokesperson for Dublin Port confirmed today that there are no new cameras installed in the tunnel. However, there are speed cameras in the tunnel and have been for a number of years. These cameras monitor average speed through the tunnel. The max speed in the tunnel is 80km/h. This may change at times so keep an eye on the overhead signs.

So slow down in the tunnel. Speeding not only carries a fine of €80 and 3 points it also kills.
