SUMMARY OF SOCIAL HOUSING ASSESSMENTS 2016

PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE IF YOU ARE AN APPLICANT ON THE HOUSING WAITING LIST

IN COUNTY MEATH

The Housing Section of Meath County Council will commence a Housing Needs Assessment in accordance with Sections 3 and 21 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2009 commencing Monday, the 4th July 2016.

Q. What is a Summary of Social Housing Assessment?

A. The Summary of Housing Assessment is a review of all applicants for social housing supports, who are currently on the social housing waiting lists within Meath. The information provided by each applicant will be reassessed under the Social Housing Assessment Regulations, 2011(as amended) taking into account the household's eligibility and need.

Q. How will the Meath County Council contact approved applicants?

A. Meath County Council will write directly to each applicant on its social housing lists using the current address provided by the household. (If you have moved address please ensure that you update your details by contacting the Housing Section (see contact details below) before Friday, 29th July 2016.

Q. What will you have to do?

A. Each household will be asked to complete a form and provide documentary evidence of any changes in their circumstances and return this information to the Housing Authority. (If you have any difficulty with completing this form you can contact the Housing Section for assistance). Some applicants will be called into the local municipal district civic offices for an up-to-date assessment which will be arranged by appointment

Q. What will happen if I do not return the information requested?

A. If you fail to return this information within the specified time period your application for social housing support will be terminated.

This assessment will establish the housing needs of County Meath as at 21st September. As and from that date, all future lettings of housing units will be made from this assessment. As such, it is essential that all approved social housing applicants return their forms by Friday, 29th July, 2016.
