Garda have arrested two men following an armed robbery at a Post Office in Courtown, Co. Wexford yesterday afternoon 19th April 2016.

The two men entered the Post Office at about 4.20, both wore gloves and one carried what appeared to be firearm. They threatened a female staff member and demanded cash. Following a struggle with the staff member the suspected offenders removed a cash drawer and stole a small quantity of cash.

Gardaí responding to the incident, arrested one man a short distance from the scene and a firearm was recovered. The second man was arrested a short time later.

The men, one in his late teens and the other in his 20s, are currently detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at Enniscorthy Garda Station.
