Gardai in Howth are appealing to anyone in Howth who may have been witnesses to a collision that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning 9th July, 2016 at approximately 12.45a.m. on Strand Road, Baldoyle.

What was described as a black Volvo S.40 model, 07 D registration, came down the Strand Road in the direction of Main Street, Baldoyle and struck the 26 year old male cyclist on his way home from work. The cyclist was knocked to the ground with serious leg injuries and was removed to Beaumont Hospital where he continues to be treated for his injuries.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene. This car travelled along Strand Road, Baldoyle onto Main Street turned left onto Moyne Road and again turned left into the Castlemoyne Estate. The car was abandoned in the Castlemoyne Estate. The car's two front tyres had blown out and the car was being driven on rims at the time it was abandoned.
