As part of an intelligence led joint operation involving Revenue's Customs Service, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Waterford Drugs Unit and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA), a house in the Waterford area was searched yesterday, Monday 11th July 2016 shortly after midday. A quantity of controlled drugs, 5,000 Diazepam and Alprazolam and 50g Cannabis Resin, was seized. The combined value of the drugs is approximately €10,000, pending analysis.

A male aged 29 and a female aged 28 were arrested by Gardaí and remain detained at Waterford Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 as amended. Investigations are continuing.
