Gardaí are investigating an incident that has been widely shared from a mum's post across social media. It relates to the attempted abduction of a seven year old boy as he returned home from a playground outside a community centre in Maudlintown, Co Wexford. The boy was reportedly approached by two men in a white van with one wearing a mask, who tried to cover the boy's head around 7.15pm on Sunday evening.

'You're coming with us.' they said but the boy managed to break free when his friends came around the corner.

The boy luckly escaped from his alleged abductors with only a few scratches to his hand.

Please remember that cases of child abduction are very rare in Ireland and reports investigated by Gardaí are usually found to be cases of mistaken intent. If you do, however, have any information please docontact the Gardaí.
