From Sunday, the 27th to Tuesday the 29th March 2016.

The Easter Racing Festival at Fairyhouse will take place from Sunday 27th March to Tuesday 29th March, with the biggest attendance expected on Monday 28th for The Grand National. Last year the traffic attending the above event combined with traffic going to Tayto Park, which then led to severe traffic congestion in Ratoath Village.

An Garda Síochána in Meath Traffic Department wish to recommend that traffic going to Fairyhouse from the northern direction via the N2 and M1 be diverted along the following routes:

1. Traffic on the N2 coming from the Slane direction, will be diverted right at Rathfeigh cross towards skryne, then they will be directed to turn left at Swan's Pub, Skryne Cross Road, which will take them into Ratoath. In Rathoath they will be directed right at the Steeplechase to the Roundabout on the Dunshaughlin Rd, where they will be then directed towards Fairyhouse as per the red route marked on map on the right.

2. Traffic coming from the M1 through Duleek will be directed right at Kilmoon Cross towards Rathfeigh as per the green route marked below, where they will then be directed to follow the green route on map on the right.

3. Traffic accessing Fairyhouse from the M50 via the M2, will be directed by VMS to exit the M2 at junction 3 and will then access Fairyhouse through Ratoath Village, as per the purple route on map on the right.
